The U14G NJ Stallions Stampede had an incredible run in this year’s U14G NCS New Jersey State Cup Tournament,  making it all the way to the State Final against FC Copa Milan.  In the early two rounds, the Stampede defeated #3 NJ State Ranked SJE Barons (3-2), then defeated NJ Force Academy Devils (3-0).  The playoff rounds included convincing victories in the quarterfinal against Real New Jersey SC Force (7-0), and a semifinal win over #1 NJ State Ranked, #3 Region I ranked, Toms River FC Everton (3-0).  In the State Final, the Stampede faced a tough opponent in the #2 state ranked FC Copa Milan, and despite their success in holding possession for much of the game, the state championship went to FC Copa who won the match 3-0.  Coach Shaun Cryer said, “It’s never easy to lose a final in a big tournament like state cup.  The girls had a great opportunity this year.  They played very well through the first 4 games in the tournament.  They’re disappointed of course, but we won’t let this take away from all their hard work.  They’re already hungry for the next challenge.  I’m proud of them”.
